These have always inspired a sense of the magical—probably because you might find within one a giant pearl! I like the idea of filling one with glass floats as in the first image. We don't really have that many mosquitos in the summer, and I'm not sure I would actually drape the crib in a net, but I love the magic of these. They also have such a cool Caribbean aura to them, suitable for a pirate prince or princess. I found a great, inexpensive net at Ikea and am going to modify it a bit with edging and some flag pennants. I also am toying with the idea of the square top versus the round one. There is something very cool about it...
We had the amazing opportunity to visit our "local" Portland Ikea this weekend. What a treat! We even went so far as to purchase our first piece of furniture for the baby room. Instead of purchasing an actual changing table, we've opted for this Edland chest of drawers. We'll put a changing pad on top and call it good. We also picked up this gorgeous Husnes mirror. Can't wait to start assembling this room!
